Tony Dipre
Men's Track and Field
Allegheny's Tony Dipre set a meet record and posted an NCAA automatic-qualifying time while winning the mile at the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. He was also a member of the winning Distance Medley Relay team for the Gators, who placed third among nine teams at Denison.

Dipre, who was named the NCAC Distance Runner of the Year, claimed his individual win with a time of 4:10.84 and held off Denison's Makorobondo Salukombo (4:12.23). The previous meet record was set in 2009 by the Gators' Jeramie Parker (4:13.89). The Blue and Gold has now won three straight indoor miles at NCACs.

Mike Vlah, Alex Gorski and Chris Marker joined Dipre on the DMR squad, which clocked in at 10:35.79.

Women's Track and Field
Beth Muller fell one win short of her second straight sprint trifecta, but still won the 55- and 200-yard dashes, to lead the Allegheny women's indoor track and field team to third place out of eight teams at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Denison. She was named Sprinter/Hurdler of the Year for the second straight season.

Muller repeated as the 55 champ with a time of 7.51 seconds and then successfully defended her title in the 200 (:26.37).

As the defending champ in the 400, Muller was beat out by Marissa Clardy of Oberlin. Muller finished the race in 1:00.08 while Clardy came in at :59.39.

MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Allegheny women’s swimming and diving team won seven out of 13 events, sweeping two and winning four straight events to defeat West Virginia Wesleyan 111-77 in non –conference action on Friday night in the home opener for the Gators. 

Christine Smith led a 1-2-3 finish in the 1000 yard freestyle to sweep the points and take an early 22-14 lead. Smith swam in 11:12.46 and Lauren Karl came in second with 11:16.43, while Gaby Zinobile clocked in at 11:38.79 for third. 

Allegheny returned to take the top three spots in the 200 yard freestyle.  Megan Knox was the leader of the pack to earn her first out of two individual wins on the night. Knox swam 2:00.71 and Molly Durot was five seconds behind in 2:05.01. Tara Stein was the last Gator to touch in 2:05.16.

In the 50 freestyle, Ariana Lyons and Ashley Whitehead were tenths of a second apart from first and second place. Lyons swam in 24.68 to edge Whitehead, who touched in 24.74. Joanna Wieckowska and Rachelle Barrett battled it out in the 200 yard IM. Wieckowska used her second lap to take a lead on Barrett to finish in 2:21.02 and Barrett was second in 2:22.29. 

Durot won the 100 butterfly in 1:03.06, before Whitehead won her first event in the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.64. In the 100 backstroke, Weickowska clocked in the fastest time for Allegheny (1:04.81) for a second-place finish. Knox’s other victory came in the 500 freestyle. She edged teammate Smith with a time of 5:26.63. 

The Gators returns to action tomorrow against Grove City. Meet begins at 12 p.m.
